San Francisco, CA, USA
I have a handful of fava beans that are third generation from some I originally got from J.L. Hudson seed bank. They grew out here in San Francisco near the Pacific ocean, where it’s cold, foggy, and overcast most of the year. A lot of things don’t thrive here but these did okay. The first generation only grew enough beans to replace the ones I sowed, but then the second and third year they did much better, the bugs ate them but they just outgrew the damage.
The Sweet Lorane variety is the smaller kind of Broad bean, often used as fodder from what I understand, but these are very tasty. You could make a nice hummus with them, for example.
Trade only please. I’m open to trading for pretty much anything (even if I already have it, it’s good to get additional lines, eh?)
