Surprisingly hardy! Unfazed down to approximately 28F. Parent plant of hybrid petunias, original seed source from Baker Creek Heirloom Seed. Remarkably drought and heat tolerant, plus can survive light freezes.
Deep purple, lightly fragrant flowers, blooms prolifically. Attracts sulfur butterflies and sphinx moths. Did well in greenhouse, as well as outdoors in almost full sun, and partial shade. Versatile plant.
Grown in the hot high desert SW, zone 8a, in marginally improved, very sandy clay using permaculture and organic, low-nitrogen methods.
