As the story goes, it was sourced in Mexico. It still has a wild habit with vigorous, somewhat wiry, sprawling vines. Holds up well to strong winds and extreme heat.
Grown in the hot high desert SW, zone 8a, in marginally improved, very sandy clay using permaculture and organic, low-nitrogen methods.
