Description

This slow growing, short, clump forming sedge produces green starburst flowers in the spring that turn brown in the summer and fall. Morningstar Sedge (Carex grayi) a source of food for caterpillars and butterflies late into the year as leaves are semi-evergreen. Plant in moist, well drained clay or sandy soil rich in organic matter. A great option alongside or in a pond or rain garden.
