A tall perennial that produces numerous small, dull-white flower heads in a broad, flat-topped cluster. It is native to eastern and central North America and is commonly associated with limestone areas, prairies, open woods, fields, and disturbed ground. Its flowers bloom from late summer into fall and attract a variety of pollinators.
