Viola banksii or Native Violet is one of the few species in the Viola genus native to Australia. It is a herbaceous ground-cover plant that can spread to cover large areas. It prefers a sunny or semi-shaded position and moist soil. In full sun the leaves can lose some of the lush green colour. Previously known as Viola hederacea, however research has shown that it is in fact a separate species. |
