Alpine Strawberry

Fragaria vesca 'Semperflorens'

Description

A particular kind of strawberry that usually grows wild in Northern Europe but also has been cultivated. Fruit is usually small but very aromatic. Production peaks in mid-summer, but can be harvested over several months.

Need light to germinate.

Seeds can be saved by blending ripe fruits and adding 1 cup of water. After blending, filter out seeds that sink to the bottom. The ones that float won’t produce.

A further companion is Brunnera macrophylla (no entry yet).
